1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how FGV Prodata Systems Sdn Bhd ("FGV Prodata", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses personal data through the SPMS mobile application ("SPMS" or "the App"). This Privacy Policy applies to users of the SPMS Android application.

By installing and using SPMS, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Scope

SPMS is an enterprise application developed and operated by FGV Prodata Systems Sdn Bhd for use in plantation operations and geographic information system (GIS) workflows by authorised personnel of FELDA and its group of companies.

3. Location Data Collection

3.1 What we collect

SPMS collects precise device location data, including GPS coordinates and associated timestamps.

3.2 Why we collect location data

We collect location data for the following operational purposes:

• Recording the geographic position of plantation observations, tree health records, block and estate boundaries, and other field activities;
• Providing real-time mapping, navigation, and spatial awareness within plantation areas;
• Verifying that field activities are performed at the designated locations;
• Generating operational and audit records for plantation management.

3.3 Background location collection

SPMS collects location data both when the App is actively in use (foreground) and when the App is running in the background, including when the device screen is locked or another application is in use.

Background location collection is necessary to support continuous field operations such as plantation patrols, route tracing, and time-stamped activity logging that must continue even when the App is not the active application on the device.

3.4 User control over location permissions

Location data is collected only with the user"s permission, granted through the iOS and Android operating system. Users may grant, restrict, or revoke location access at any time by going to device privacy settings.

Restricting or revoking location permission will disable location-dependent features of SPMS, and may prevent the App from functioning as intended.

4. How We Use Location Data

We use the location data collected by SPMS exclusively for legitimate plantation management and operational purposes, including:

• Field activity logging and operational record-keeping;
• Mapping and spatial analysis of plantation assets;
• Reporting to FELDA management and authorised stakeholders;
• Internal audit, compliance, and quality control.

We do not sell location data, share it with third-party advertisers, or use it for any purpose unrelated to FELDA"s plantation operations and contractual obligations to FELDA.

5. Data Sharing

Location data collected by SPMS is shared only with:

• Authorised personnel within FELDA and its group of companies;
• FGV Prodata Systems Sdn Bhd, in its capacity as data controller and operator of the SPMS platform.

We do not share location data with any party outside the FELDA group of companies, except where required by law or by an order of a competent authority.

6. Data Retention

We retain location data for as long as it is required for the operational, reporting, audit, and business purposes of FGV Prodata Systems Sdn Bhd and FELDA.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard the data collected through SPMS against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to location data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.

8. Children's Data

SPMS is intended for use by authorised personnel only and is not directed at or designed for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your Rights Under Malaysian Law

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you;
• Request the correction of inaccurate personal data;
• Withdraw consent for processing, subject to operational and legal obligations;
• Submit a complaint regarding the handling of your personal data.
